The gold rush is on. Cryptopunks, Bored Ape Yacht Club, VeeFriends, and a host of other NFT projects are smashing records and everyone is searching for the next big thing. New NFT projects are launching everyday and speculators are asking: Which NFT is the next Cryptopunks?
Becoming the next Cryptopunks is a tall ask but some of these projects do have potential to blow up. Anything will a floor over 3 ETH will be excluded from this list as those projects would keep the average investor from getting involved. Projects will be sorted by floor price so the highest floor will be listed first.
I will also include a bonus list of projects with price floors from 3-10 ETH at the end. These projects probably have a better chance of actually becoming the next Cryptopunks but you need anywhere from $10,000-$30,000 laying around to invest.
The following projects allow you to get involved for anywhere from $10,000 to less than $1,000.

Chiptopunks
Floor Price: 2.2 ETH
Highest Recent Sale: 15 ETH
Supply: 512
Twitter Followers: 1,899
Discord Members: 1,647
Thesis: Chiptopunks are a collection of animated robots and have the look of Cryptopunks but they are not associated with Larva Labs. Chiptopunks are generated from animated computer parts and they do look sick. The art is great. They have a long way to go to become the next Cryptopunks but they are off to a good start. With a supply of only 512, they could become extremely valuable if marketed correctly and the right people get involved. And that could happen in a hurry
The following is still fairly small but that is to be expected with only 300 unique owners. I realize this is a long shot to become the next Cryptopunks but I like the art and if I find a few ETH laying around and need to spend them, I won’t hesitate to buy a floor Chiptopunk. Don’t know for sure but I’m guessing these guys are fellow Texans since the total supply is 512 (Austin area code).
World of Women
Floor Price: 1.8 ETH
Highest Recent Sale: 99.9 ETH
Supply: 10,000
Twitter Followers: 21,500
Discord Members: 7,724
Thesis: World of Women is on fire. The floor is rising at a rapid pace and will likely surpass 3 ETH soon. This project checks all of the boxes of what makes a successful NFT Project. It is unique, the art is original, they have plenty of juice from influential people in the NFT space, and owning an WoW provides utility (see WoW Royalties Club). Gary Vaynerchuk, Prankster, and Digitalartchick are all known supporters of the project
World of Women says they “aim to bring in more diversity and inclusivity to nfts, which we believe is very much missing in this male dominated space.” This is obviously a quality project and I can see it gaining major traction with female artists and influencers, much like other NFT projects have with professional athletes. I believe it will continue its steady growth but if it hits the mainstream, look out.
Curio Cards
Floor Price: 1.71 ETH
Highest Recent Sale: 420 ETH
Supply: It’s complicated
Twitter Followers: 6,241
Discord Members: 3,809
Thesis: Curio Cards were one of, if not THE original NFT art project. Curio Cards are a digital art collection created by 7 different artists. They had a very long winter where, much like Cryptopunks, they could not be given away. Now, Gary Vee and other important names in the NFT space have been talking them up. The real attention getter, however, was the increase in total sales from $2.8 Million in July to $68 Million in August.
A rare Curio Card sold for a record $1.3 Million in August 25th and Christie’s Auction House plans to auction off a complete set of Curio Cards on October 1. History tells us the inclusion of Curio Cards in a Christie’s auction could be a catalyst for an increase in price. Christie’s famously auctioned off Beeple’s NFT: “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” for $69 Million. Since then, several Cryptopunks have sold for record sums ($5 Million +) in auctions at Christie’s and Sotheby’s, arguably the two most famous auction houses in the world. NFT prices have seen an immediate increase following said auctions.
This recent pullback may be a great time to grab a Curio Card before the October 1 auction. I recommend reading these two guides on Curio Cards before jumping in and buying one:

Koala Intelligence Agency
Floor Price: 0.9 ETH
Highest Recent Sale: 49 ETH
Supply: 10,000
Twitter Followers: 13,700
Discord Members: 13,000
Thesis: Koala Intelligence Agency, not to be confused with Krazy Koalas, caught fire when the Wizard of SOHO and Gary Vaynerchuk started tweeting about the project. KIA’s floor rose 500% overnight.
What makes this project different from the rest? For one, the art if fun but the creators went out of their way to come up with a concept that was unique instead of just using alliteration and sticking a random adjective before Koalas. It certainly helps if you can get the attention of someone with 2.4 Million Twitter followers.
Koalas have a solid community with 13,000+ members/followers on discord/twitter. They will need to continue growing that community, keep the attention of said influencers, and (this is key) deliver on future utility. KIA has promised Geocache Challenges where they will hide crates containing prizes in “real life” locations. Not sure what this means but sounds like a treasure hunt and sounds fun. If they deliver, the project is likely to continue up and to the right.

Voxies
Floor Price: 0.82 ETH
Highest Recent Sale: 25 ETH
Supply: 25 ETH
Twitter Followers: 7,828
Discord Members: 3,623
Thesis: Voxies are a unique project and I like that. If you are looking to find successful NFT projects as an investment, please look for something unique. Voxies are “cute, loveable, and collectible 3D buddies that live on the Ethereum” blockchain. What makes Voxies unique is that they are tied to a future game called Voxel Tactics. Voxel Tactics is a tactical RPG game that will give players the opportunity to earn when they play.
The Voxies team has done a good job of giving specific deadlines in their roadmap and have delivered so far. Voxies holders received the first airdrop of Voxel Tokens on August 26th and are supposed to receive further drops of the in-game currency. I really like the look of this project and think it has the look of legitimacy that many other projects lack.
Lazy Lions
Floor Price: 0.79 ETH
Highest Recent Sale: 17 ETH
Supply: 10,000
Twitter Followers: 11,500
Discord Members: 14,370
Thesis: Lazy Lions have built a loyal and passionate community in their short life. Lazy Lions have consistently seen the floor rise and have held their ground while other PFP projects start to fade. Lion holders are the beneficiary of a royalty share program called ROARwards, haha. Lions are also promised future utility in merchandise drops tied to certain traits, an additional NFT (a personalized bungalow), and tie-in to a future play to earn golf game.
The game doesn’t seem to be quite as advanced as Rumble Kong League but it does provide the hope of increased utility. Nonetheless, the Lazy Lions are a fun community who seem to be continually growing and getting the attention of NFT influencers. Former NFL Wide Receiver Dez Bryant recently joined “the Pride”

Rumble Kong League
Floor Price: 0.54 ETH
Highest Recent Sale: 25 ETH
Supply: 10,000
Twitter Followers: 11,900
Discord Members: 5,151
Thesis: My first big NFT regret is not buying a VeeFriends at mint. My second is selling my Rumble Kong for a 50% gain. I am a hoops fan and this was the perfect project for me. I like the artwork, the community is strong, and it is tied to a future game that I would actually enjoy. It has everything I should be looking for. If I get the chance, I’ll get back in.
Rumble Kongs have rarity traits much like every other generative art PFP project but they also sport skill traits. Each player has a skill rating for Defense, Shooting, Vision, and Finishing. The skill traits are supposed to carry over to the game. Kong owners will be able to join up with other owners to form a team or they can rent their Kong out to people wanting to play the game and generate income. If they can deliver a high quality play to earn game, this could be huge.
The project has already caught the attention of Ja Rule and NBA players Tyrese Halliburton and Steph Curry. If this project becomes widely adopted among NBA players, look out.

Lonely Alien Space Club
Floor Price: 0.53 ETH
Highest Recent Sale: 60 ETH
Supply: 10,000
Twitter Followers: 23,000
Discord Members: 8,000
Thesis: The Lonely Alien Space Club is a wild bunch. I have spent some time in the discord and this may be one of the most passionate followings in this recent slew of PFP projects. Lonely Alien Space Club do not take themsleves too seriously, get a pretty hard time from other NFT followings on twitter, and something tells me they JDGAF. The LASC Discord has a Disco channel, engages in regular “twitter raids” of NFT influencers, and relentlessly market the project on social media.
What makes me think this project will continue to grow? The Space Club as a portion of proceeds set aside to perform regular “floor sweeps” where they buy up the floor in an effort to raise the floor price before air dropping aliens back to alien owners in community giveaways. Alien owners are also promised additional NFTs in the future such as planets and UFO’s for each Alien held.
An added benefit to this project is the increased interest in life on other planets and UFO talk. By the way, why aren’t people talking about that more? The fervor of the Lonely Alien Space Club Community is what makes me think this project is not going away any time soon. *Full disclosure: I own a Lonely Alien

Avastars
Floor Price: 0.24 ETH
Highest Recent Sale: 40 ETH
Supply: 25,200
Twitter Followers: 15,200
Discord Members: 6,160
Thesis: Avastars could be one of the more underrated NFT projects available. Consider one of the “OG NFT projects”, it has a Curio Card vibe to it. The larger supply of 25,200 Avastars brings the floor down to an affordable level for the average NFT collector. Possibly the biggest think Avastars has going for it is the “who” behind the project. Creator Jimmy McNelis (better known as jimmy.eth) is the founder of NFT 42, this project, and a host of other successful blockchain projects.
McNelis also helped develop VeeFriends, Gary Vaynerchucks wildly successful NFT project (scroll down to read more about VeeFriends). Avastars haven’t been talked about much of late but I think they are due for a resurgence. It is usually a good idea to bet on the “who” before the “what” and Jimmy McNelis is an influential and successful figure in the NFT community. I feel good about the future growth of this project.
Axie Infinity
Floor Price: N/A
Highest Recent Sale: 300 ETH
Supply: 283,800
Twitter Followers: 437,900
Discord Members: 800,000
Thesis: The number of Twitter followers and Discord members are not typos. Axie Infinity has world wide popularity and is really in a league of its own. It may never be the “next Cryptopunks” because it is just a totally different animal but Axie Infinity has the potential to be HUGE. It has some Pokémon vibes and it already has a playable game fully built out. It is THE model for “play to earn” games and has inspired a host of other NFT project which are also promising similar games.
With half a million Twitter followers, 800,000 Discord members, and a highest sale of 300 ETH (approx. $1 Million USD), this game screams legitimacy. Axie Infinity is a whole niche in itself so I will not get into the nitty gritty of the game. What you need to know is that this could be one of the most successful NFT projects and has a great chance to be the longest lasting of the projects we know now. If you are a Pokémon fan, you enjoy gaming, and are starting to dabble in NFT’s, Axie Infinity is worth checking out.

Zed Run
Floor Price: 0.05 and up
Highest Recent Sale: 77 ETH
Supply: 91,000
Twitter Followers: 45,300
Discord Members: 77,400
Thesis: Zed Run has been around longer than most of the projects on this list. It was one of the original play to earn games. Zed Run has a lot going for it. The art/graphics are spectacular, horse racing is awesome, and owners have multiple ways to create actual income.
Owners of Zed Run horses have the opportunity to enter horse races with prize pools. You can also send your Crypto horse to a breeding stable to breed additional horses. It has a very real feel to it think this game could easily be accepted by the masses. Zed Run has a reasonable entry point and I can see it being one of the most widely adopted NFT projects period.
Bonus List: Potential “Next Cryptopunks” – Floor 3-10 ETH
These projects are all further along and are obviously very successful already. The thesis provided for each project is more a case for why they could be the eventual successor to the NFT throne.
Project | Floor Price | Highest Recent Sale | Supply | Twitter Followers | Discord Members | OpenSea Store Link |
VeeFriends | 9.7 ETH | 105 ETH | 10,300 | 37,000 | 108,000 | VeeFriends Collection |
Meebits | 8.45 ETH | 1,000 | 20,000 | 59,800 | 30,485 | Meebits Collection |
Mutant Ape Yacht Club | 6.9 ETH | 350 ETH | 20,000 | 106,200 | 32,700 | MAYC Collection |
Pudgy Penguins | 3.8 ETH | 150 ETH | 8,900 | 24,300 | 7,714 | Pudgy Penguin Collection |
0N1 Force | 3.7 ETH | 188 ETH | 7,800 | 38,000 | 21,913 | 0N1 Force Collection |
VeeFriends
VeeFriends is created and powered by perhaps the most notable NFT influencer, Gary Vaynerchuk. Gary Vee got me into NFT’s, convinced me of their viability, and has unknowingly taught me plenty more since then. There is an authenticity to him that makes me believe in this project. If you gave me a NFT and made me hold it for 5 years, I would want it to be a VeeFriends, not a Cryptopunk or Bored Ape.
Why do I believe VeeFriends will be THE most successful NFT project? Gary has put a lot of pressure on himself to deliver some serious utility to VeeFriends holders and I believe he will. His reputation is on the line and he has said so. I started listening to Gary’s podcast around the time VeeFriends launched. I wanted to buy a Gift Goat oh so bad but I just didn’t understand it at the time and boy did I miss out.
If I am able to trade up enough (I have a long way to go) I will go all in on VeeFriends.
Meebits
Thesis: Meebits were a Larva Labs (same creators as Cryptopunks) creation and have arguably already reached Cryptopunk status. Meebits are lagging behind Cryptopunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club are lagging behind, but only by a little. Two Meebits have sold for $1 Million+ in the last 30 days. Because of the higher supply (20,000 vs the 10,000 of Cryptopunks and BAYC), the floor is likely to remain much lower but I imagine we will see rare Meebits hold their own.
Mutant Ape Yacht Club
Ok this feels like cheating a little bit. I snuck MAYC into the list based off the sub 10 ETH floor price but it really should be lumped in with Bored Ape Yacht Club. Bored Ape Yacht Club has a floor price of 25 ETH and has a highest sale of 500 ETH. BAYC is on pace to become the second most successful NFT PFP project if it isn’t already.
Mutant Ape Yacht Club is an extension of Bored Ape Yacht Club that allows holders of a Bored Ape to give their current ape a “mutant serum”. The serum is burned and a Mutant Ape is dropped into the current holders wallet. The owner retains possession of their original bored ape. Seems like a great time to sell one of the apes and lock in some profits while still remaining a member of the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
The project has a lot of momentum in its first week with over 60 ETH in sales volume in the first few days on the secondary market.
Pudgy Penguins
Pudgy Penguins number one thing they have going for them is the cute factor. Pudgy Penguins starting gaining steam with NFT influencers in the last couple weeks but hit the mainstream when the New York Times published an article about the adorably overweight flightless seabirds.
Pudgy Penguins have a lower supply than the standard 10,000 of most PFP projects. Penguin holders will hope to get some momentum heading into the holidays as penguin holders are able to claim a “Pudgy Present” (an additional NFT to be revealed on Christmas Day, 2021). Hopefully they can deliver something as popular as the Mutant Ape Yacht Club.
Dune Analytics has a list of the largest NFT owners in the space and what they own. Pudgy Penguins is higher up on the list than you would think. Following the whales is generally a good way to go.
0N1 Force
To start with, 0N1 Force has its own unique look. Sounds simple but I think that is a big deal. 0N1 Force are 7,777 generative side profile characters that are drawn in comic book style and will be tied to a comic book series. Comics are and always will be popular, IMHO. This project has serious potential. 0N1 took off like a rocket after mint but has pulled back of late. Almost every project has.
0N1 Force needs a little more support from influencers and celebrities and will need to deliver more utility to hold the project afloat until the comic book comes out. If they deliver there, the uniqueness and quality of the art should take the project over the top.
Conclusion
Thanks for reading and please comment if there is a project I missed. This is all in good fun and for entertainment purposes only so please don’t yell.
